Finding a new home

With the arrival of summer comes intensity and putting ourselves forward and at Fraser River Indigenous Society we are so happy to announce summer also brings a new location.

This spot will be where we can grow, connect and serve our community. Our new location will be a culturally safe space to gather and respect ceremonial practices. It will feature a kitchen, family meeting space and program room as well as outdoor recreation spaces. It is located within easy access to bus routes and central to other city services.

We are planning our move. And though it may take some time be open our doors we are extremely excited to go on this journey with you.


We hope to start renovations soon, and we will be updating this blog as we go through that process.

The location may be new, but the idea behind creating a place in the community to serve our urban Indigenous community has been in the works for more than 10 years. The Gathering Place is our vision for a physical space welcoming people of all nations to be honoured in an Indigenous environment united in pride, strength, and a sense of belonging.
